Tip #4: Follow A Breathing Pattern

Have you ever wondered why our breath can be unconscious at times and conscious during other times?


This special breathing technique I want to share was developed by Wim Hof. It has been studied and documented to strongly affect the chemical and physiological activities in our bodies. It is based on inhaling deeply and exhaling without force in a few varied patterns. This process relaxes the nervous system and boosts the amount of oxygen to the body's cells. It acts in two ways; (1) lowering anxiety, and (2) boosting immunity!


Wim Hof recommends practicing right after waking, before a meal, when your stomach is still empty. Note that this breathing technique can temporarily affect motor control and in rare cases lead to loss of consciousness. Always sit or lie down before practicing this and never practice it while operating a vehicle or mechanical equipment and never practice it in or near bodies of water.
